It felt good to create this piece of music. Which leads me to say that musical creation acts as a purgatory experience on our minds. You give your demons a chance to express themselves, before they go back to sleep.

Creating A World

I have recently realised how important this is to me when I'm trying to write a story. My main focus is to create believable characters and convince the viewer that the world those characters live in is possible, tangible and real. I think a character is nothing without it's context, it's actually what makes a certain character come to life. What I'm trying to say is that you will have a solid story if the context, the world you created, can generate people like those living characters you see on the screen. Perhaps "generate" is not the most appropriate word but you get the point.

And I believe that it's through that process that the viewers will become attached to your characters. Only then will we be concerned by the obstacles your characters face. Of course, it's the hardest step, but the most important as far as I'm concerned.

How many times did I write "characters"?! Oh well.

Too Deep

Yesterday, while I was working on the storyboard of my film (which should be finished by the end of February), some random girl came up and took a brief look at my papers. I waited for her to say something, and finally she glanced at me and said ''You're deep man, you're too deep'' and she left with confusion all over her face.

Now what the hell does that even mean? She said that as if it was a BAD thing to be deep. I don't think she even understood what I was doing... But even then I don't consider myself like that. I just think, resonate and try to create art that I'm proud of. You have to sacrifice yourself for your art, in a certain way, if you want to be able to do your absolute best. And that's what I'm aiming for.

So thank you random girl. I'll go finish my movie (which I'm soo excited about), while you recieve a vacuum cleaner as a christmas gift. She asked it herself...

No Reason For Reasoning

So lately I've been really interested in the dualities of the mind, more precisely the battle between the reason and the imagination. Strangely enough, half of the people will praise one while the other half will praise the other. But in the end, I guess we've got no reason for reasoning, so let your instinct drive you.

Oh and the song was supposed to be heavier than what I usually do, but once again it took a strange turn somewhere in the middle. Hope you enjoy it nonetheless.

Birth

New song! I had this piano melody in me for so long now, I'm glad I was finally able to make something out of it. There's a nice contrast between the beginning and the end of the song. Why? Because that's Birth.

Leaving (for a bit)

I'm leaving for a period of 2 months, as I'm going to travel around the world a bit. It's going to be a great experience, and hopefully it'll influence me and the art I create.
